After a debrief session last night at the bar at which we agreed on the schedule we are now set up in room 7 in which we have set up our kit and now our bloggers/reporters are all attending the sessions for which they have been allocated.
Rob and I are now going to review the demos downstairs while all others are now attending the first plenary session.

I've just been invited by Peter Moebius, our Head of Swiss operations to join the Swiss user group for a dinner party outside of the man venue.
So we're off to another place in London but it will be a surprise. The Swiss user group is our most powerful user group, we have people from all major clients we have there and God knows we have many. Looking forward to some interesting discussions with the members on the Swiss market and market trends over there. I worked a lot for Orange Business Services in Zuerich and Geneva in the past 4 years so I'm rather excited.
Leaving the hotel now

We are getting nearer to the debrief session. All this is perfect timing thanks to public transport (yes! It's working and working good, plus it's green and cheap. I'll be arriving at Vauxhall bridge in a few moments. The hotel where Orange Business Live is taking place is located in Albert embankment, right opposite to the Tate Britain. I'll be adding more details about this trip and the Orange Business Live event as things unravel. In order to make it easy for viewers to spot our updates in real time, we have created the URL shortcut: http://orange-business.com/live , pure and simple :-) #orangelive09

I have just arrived at St Pancras and am now repairing to Paddington from which station I'll catch a train to Slough where the Orange Business Services office is located. This will be a day of preparation for us dedicated to the Orange Business Live 2009 event and we'll all convene at the hotel for a preparatory meeting before the event begins.

While leaving Gare du Nord a few minutes ago (I'm writing this on the go, at least I'm trying to as the person in the neighbouring seat of my Eurostar coach is not leaving me much space) I came across the enclosed PriceWaterHouse Coopers advert which I find very apt for anyone working in social media and the Internet at large. You can't conquer the world - even though you're wearing a shiny Spanish armour - on your own in a small boat. Teamwork isn't an option. Has it ever been? As a former rugby enthusiast, I'm not even wondering about that.
There will be 7 of us blogging at the Orange Business Live event - tracking hashtag is #orangelive09 - and we'll share the work between us.
While Joel, our cameraman, will be devoted to recording videos (snippets to be posted immediately and longer videos will uploaded later with chapter markings, transcripts and all the trappings), Anthony and Stewart will be doing the reporting job and microblogging on this posterous account and Steve will be in the background using Ant's and Stew's notes to write up longer postings on the main blog which is http://blogs.orange-business.com/live. Our reporters will also record some podcasts, some of which will be used at a later date to populate our multimedia platform (our webTV back-office already).
The posterous blog can also accept video snippets and podcasts so we'll be working on them too. Rob (the Internet pioneer I depicted in an earlier post on our main blog hub: iow our blog root directory) will be working with me too on interviews and reports. As there will be many break-out sessions, Anthony has prepared a schedule which we'll all be revewing before the event gets started.
A preliminary meeting prior to the kick-off has been scheduled at the hotel (near Tower Bridge) at around 5:00 pm GMT. So as you see, this will be a long day but I believe that a lot of interesting material will be produced while we're there. It had always been my frustration to see how many good discussions we could have in these client meetings and that unfortunately, no-one else was able to benefit from it, least of all the clients who hadn't been able to make to the event. So I was very pleased that our colleagues who are organising the event and Axel, our boss and Head of Marketing, shared our enthusiasm.
It shows how much social media is becoming important to Orange Business Services as a whle, and not just us (in fact we're only serving a bigger purpose here, and that purpose is about playing a role in the ICTcommunity, and sharing our thoughts and engaging in honest straightforward discussions, not selling our wares, this is what call using social media properly).
Well, exciting days these will be, so stay tuned to #orangelive09 from Monday till Wednesday (8-10 June, 2009) as the event takes place in London and as we'll be reporting continuously bringing you the latest from...

It's barely 6:30 am CET here and I'm leaving Denfert Rochereau in south central Paris to catch the Eurostar to Saint Pancras. This is the build up to the yearly Orange Business Live event which will take place in London in a hotel near Tower Bridge. A little group of bloggers (7 including a cameraman) will ensure that every member of the ICT community, and mainly those of our clients who couldn't make it to London, won't miss a thing that's said and done there. We'll shoot videos, blog and microblog for 2 days solid commencing tonight with the welcome party due to take place at the hotel. All our posts and tweets will be marked #orangelive09 to make it easier for you to track us on the Net and in social media sites.
Stay tuned :-) ...
